Happy Nutrition Month
Every season change is a great time to reset and replenish our body with nutrient-dense foods.
Spring is almost here and some of us have packed a few unwanted pounds and perhaps, feeling sluggish from eating warm-comforting foods during the cold winter months.
Here are 7 simple ways that may help you get a clean start
and feel more energized this spring:
Blood purifying foods (such as: beets, celery, cruciferous vegetables, blueberries, etc.), cleaner blood will lead to a healthier body
Super foods to support your immune (garlic, onions, ginger, bell peppers, citrus fruits, etc)
Plant food supplements high in minerals will nourish your body (like alfalfa, spirulina, kelp, chlorophyll, etc.)
Foods high in antioxidants to protect your body from stress and support your immune system (found in mostly dark vegetables and berries, especially purple, blue, red, orange and yellow)
Adding more fiber (fruits, vegetables, beans, whole grains) to gently move waste products out of the large intestine
Drinking more water will help flush toxins out of the body through the kidneys
Jumping (skipping rope, jumping jacks, trampoline) - will promote sweating and toxin removal through our skin
Replacing the furnace air filter and opening some windows on warmer sunny days, may also be beneficial in increasing your energy levels.
